Although not all Puritans shared the same beliefs, those who settled in New Haven appear to have been hyper-Calvinist. This apocalyptic obsession has remained a part of contemporary culture. One wonders if the cults of our modern day are simply playing on this same tired playbook. The Book of Revelations can be interpreted in a number of ways, and many Christian sects and denominations differ on this entrancing portion of the New Testament. I am not implying that the Book of Revelations is inherently bad. It is unobjectionable to state that information can be weaponized, and the Book of Revelations is not immune to this unfair treatment. Wikipedia elucidates;
