Although not all Puritans shared the same beliefs, those who settled in New Haven appear to have been hyper-Calvinist. This apocalyptic obsession has remained a part of contemporary culture. One wonders if the cults of our modern day are simply playing on this same tired playbook. The Book of Revelations can be interpreted in a number of ways, and many Christian sects and denominations differ on this entrancing portion of the New Testament. I am not implying that the Book of Revelations is inherently bad.
